Hello all…
Did I get you up there with the title? I was going to take the 2012 part off the title and put it in the body/text, but I thought that might cause some uneeded anxiety, even if for a brief moment. I don’t do that. We all have enough anxiety and stress, without creating more – even if it is a joke!
You’re Welcome!
So, how’ve you been? Holidays being kind to you and yours? I sure hope so!
Global warming has kept us (HERE IN MN) to only one large snowfall so far this winter. Not that I expect it to stay this way for the entire winter, but it would be nice. A wonderful compromise between the snowed in / everything iced up and the soaring temps /sopping wet humidity of our recent summers. Just my opinion!
No book release yet, but I do believe we’re on the cusp!! Don’t hold your breath, but stay tuned…
My latest anxiety is, since I volunteered to do a guest post, I’m all anxious and nervous about if I can write enough about friendships in real life and online, to make a whole post. I have a less than 10 day deadline, so of course the stress level is increasing exponentially. I tell you what, though, if that is the extent of my troubles and tribulations, I’d be a lucky girl!!
Christmas gifts from very generous relatives, means January should be a fiscally stressless month (5 weeks – that extra week really makes a difference – before next payday)!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I wish I could be more like the cats – they never seem to worry where the next meal is coming from or how it will be acquired. They just trust that they will be fed. I sort of know that too, but my mind gets in the way and I worry. Next life, I want to be a cat!
Well, happy, happy and merry, merry…
enjoy your exit from 2012 and entry into 2013… CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, what a week, eh‽‽‽ Winter creeping or punching in to many locations. The last full week for shopping for Christmas. Trying to catch shipping deadlines for online shopping. Much sadness, anger, finger-pointing and name calling all arising from the tragedy that ended last week. Not to mention all the stuff we need to finish up, just in case we’re not here on the 22nd!
Well, in honor of all those things and whatever else you’d like to include, this special edition of FFF is being posted early. WAIT. WHAT‽‽‽ EARLY‽‽‽
Yes, that’s true. I really want to make sure that if I do leave on some apocalyptic journey, at least I left having made my weekly FFF post!! I have my priorities straight!
So, in case I don’t see you again before next week, I want to wish all of you a very warm and love filled holiday, whatever your flavor, whatever your style. Be kind to each other. Like Le Clown wisely pointed out, the best thing we can do is share as much love and peaceful energy we can to fill the void created by all the hate and sorrow!!!
“The Regret of a Flower”
Isn’t that just the most haunting title? That is the title of a soon to be released book of poetry by Gail Thornton.
I have grown to know and like Gail, personally. I read her other book, “Girl in the Iron Lung” (also soon to be released) and I was enthralled from the start.
It is told from the perspective of a 5 year old child. To children of that age, everything is absolute. There is no relativity with which to temper emotions and perceptions. And that is what kept me reading, eyes glued, until the very end.
Even though at first it seems that this can only end badly, by the end of the book, my heart swelled with the pride she must have felt by overcoming challenge after disappointing challenge.
Both trailers are also the creative brainchildren of this artistic and strong woman of today.
I can’t wait to read “The Regret of a Flower”. As near to tears as “Girl in the Iron Lung” brought me, I’m almost certain, I will go far beyond tearing up to full blown soulful crying of emotional depth.
Here we are, the Buddhakat family all dressed up and snowed in!!!
Mama and Mimi wanted to publish a post today with this link (below) to some Christmas Cats… I said they could, then they snuck in these pictures of us… those little rascals…
