Greetings, one and all… I don’t know about you, but I say HOORAY for autumn!!! I love summer and all, but I think my body prefers the summers of Alaska or upper Canada. I’ve had it with these 90 F day/nights!
OK, so I threw my back out last week and am just now able to consider mobility without my body at a 90 angle to itself. I hurt so bad I had to postpone the liver biopsy scheduled for earlier this week… I’m talking can’t stay conscious, nauseating pain – anyone ever having had back injuries knows what I mean.
So, unable to do do anything but get up out of bed (hardly), well, I thought I’d do some behind the scenes browsing, just to see what I can find. At FineArtAmerica, turns out my images all show how many viewers each has had since I uploaded them. Some I’m surprised, some I’m proud and some I just knew would be received well… these numbers do NOT include my own views of each work, which in itself is helpful…
So here’s a sampling of my more popular works on FineArtAmerica…
FLYING CARPET PARKING LOT – can’t say this one surprises me – it’s gotten lots of cool comments… and it is pretty cool, if I do say so myself! Even made it to the cover of a newly released indie author’s sci-fi book Jabberweil Hunt
next, WREATHING and ORNAMENTALS are a couple of wannabe “seasonal” pieces. I’ve hardly ever set out to make something “seasonal”, but these had that feeling when they were done, so I went with it in titling them…
WHERE’S GODOT? – This one’s popularity did surprise and please me quite a bit… it’s one of my more technically skilled creations…
HIDDEN RAINBOWS – another surprise, sort of… it’s one of my earliest good pieces so it holds a special place in my heart. Plus, it is a beautiful piece! And to this day in my personal top ten!
CORSAGE – finally today, there are all kind of reasons why this both surprises and delights me that it’s so popular… I don’t do flora very often, I hardly ever use(d) orange and it really popped when it was done. And, it’s one in a series that sort of fall into a category of flora, orange, barn, hoe down, line dancing and such. (don’t know why – just the way it happened).
Now this was a very stimulating to me with this filter through which to select this weeks choices. I will continue my research and come back with some more of the same. It’ll be interesting to see how the sites (FineArtAmerica, DeviantArt, RedBubble) differ, or even if they do. This is one of the few sites that shows list of submissions with many stats, so I can see at a glance.
Also while I’ve been laid up this week, good old Clyde from M3 land was on a walkabout and caught wind of one of my more entertaining encounters in the feifdom of customer service. Here in Bhuddaville and in true cyber style. Having worked the industry for my entire career, it’s a subject close to my heart – once a manager, always a manager, I guess. Anyway, this one’s called The eBay Saga. That will be up (here and maybe at M3 too) sometime this week… even if it’s not finished, it will be an entertaining ride through the ranks of those in the service of customers. And, so far, believe it or not, eBay is one of the good guys in this funny tale of behavior, bullying and ballast. It’s a tale of condescension, expectations and, by Clyde, it’s enough to make an ape ponder! (trademark Red of M3 fame)
OK, then, that’s it for today… hope autumn is rolling in for you with all its sense memories intact, mostly the of the scent variety in orchards, in kitchens all across the land. Apples and cider and spices, oh my! Pumpkins and crackling leaves beneath your feet and a bit of chill in the night, oh my!
Until next time… namaste.

OK already… I got distracted – while I was out seeking interesting or related things I got waylaid at Cafe Press and realize I haven’t yet opened my shoppe with them. I haven’t opened a new shop from scratch for a long while, so I have my work cut out for me. Sorry I got distracted by shiny things. It’s now time to publish this post and get to work! (Good thing I’m still virtually laid up for a while!)
*** cheers…
Beautiful fractals, no matter how often I see them.
Hope the pain recedes, and doctor visits go well!
Many thanks, EG! Hopefully you are squeezing out the last minutes of summer as we turn the corner into October.
🙂
Ouch. 😦 Sure sounds painful. Hope you’re on the mend soon.
These fractals are all lovely and I’m love Hidden Rainbows. 😀
OUCH it is!!! And of course, the older we get, the slower we heal. Hidden Rainbows is one of my all time favorites from well over 200 fractals, Tess, so I’m delighted you like it too! Keep flashing!
🙂
🙂
You’re welcome and thank you. Hope your meds are helping.
That’s so cool that one of your fractals made the cover of a book. Praying that your back is completely better soon.
Bongo… so good to see you my fine furry friend! Yes, making the cover was quite an honor, indeed! Going a little stir crazy, unable to do anything or go anywhere. Thank goodness for the internet! Take care, now!
🙂
I certainly hope you’re getting better. Back pain is no fun at all, but it sounds as if you had a mega-dose of pain.
I remember hidden rainbows from before, and while it may be simpler than the other ones, it has a nice elegance to it.
thank you very much, Binky – mega dose of pain comes close, but not completely describes my poor back (and the extended agony resulting from a back injury).
Oh so slowly, I seem better able to walk and even standing still is just awful. I’m just thinking about the bus ride I must take tomorrow, and how lovely it will be bouncing all over the place in that big old bus.
That’s a very nice way to describe Hidden Rainbows, Binky – a simple elegance… I like that!
🙂
Love love love Flying Carpet, grabbed me immediately.
Hope you are mending and feel better soon.
I thank you lady Valentine for your kindness and compassion!
I must say, even I get caught up in it when I see it again, over and over and over… IOW, it doesn’t get old, just like EG said!
😉
(Ok I’m late and trying to catch up…)
While hidden rainbow is more my color choice – I can see why corsage would be popular. How cool you can get stats of views.
Do hope you are feeling better (now wandering to next…)
a nice, slow meander throu tthe day’s fractals – hope they were enough to cover a couple weels of appetite… I have been on TKO forlo these 4+ weeks now and trying to come back… (no promisis)…
🙂
Always enjoy visiting here. (willing to wait)
