Great post. He was one of my heroes. A brilliant man of such vision.
“There are worst things than burning books…not reading them.”
Did he die on the day that Venus tracked across the sun?
Great post
thanks, indeed!!! I do believe he did die on the same day – it was probably transitting somewhere around the world when he left… maybe he caught a ride!!!
Loved this post! Bradbury is a hero of mine, as are Asimov and La Guinn. Love me some science fiction – but Fahrenheit 451 was unbelievable when it was written, and now, I think some nasties took the worst parts of it and inflicted it on American society. It was a primer for classism and misinformation. Fox News, meet the Kardashians. Brilliant! Amy http://sharplittlepencil.com/2012/06/08/heart-heart-heart/
But he left a fantastic legacy.
I can’t tell you how many copies of The Illustrated Man I’ve given as gifts.
isn’t it amazing that he’s an integral part of the REAL space program‽‽‽
and WHAT a legacy it is!!!
🙂

What a sweet combo there… Rickie Lee Jones and Tom Waits + your awesome poetic response!!! Sure would be nice to hear them sing it together!!!
