Well, dear Friends and Followers… it seems that my aim is still a bit off… aiming for Friday, I got Saturday morning… I guess that’s not too far off – I blame it on residuals of that nasty-akk virus that brought me down back several days now… that should be the end of it… I HOPE!!!
Been a busy week, but not a lot to talk about! Don’t know how that works out, but that’s my story and I’m stickin’ with it!! Mostly celebrating my birthday – which WAY makes up for being sick!!!
Good thing I pretty much have all the components ready, just haven’t assembled them yet.
So… off we go… (just so you know – I almost got outta bed 3am-ish to publish this, but thought it was a dream, and only dreamed I posted it)!!!
Once again, I hope you have enjoyed this weekend foray into the land of fractals… may your weekend be long (don’t we have another holiday on Monday here in USA?) and full of whatever you want it to be.
PS: I was thinking, since it’s award season and all, maybe I’d do a “best of” fractal show one of these weeks… what do you think? Would you be willing to put in a request for your favorite fractal of all time from the past year? Mayhap I will put together a special edition of the FridayFractalFeature (midweek, sometime) of just what you, my dear friends would like to see… think about it!!!

Love the music!
And another great set.
The top untitled one, and Sunset Tunnel are my favorites this week. Very sci fi.
Hmm… I’ll have to dig back through the year to pick out favorites.
(There will end up being a lot – you’re really good at this.)
I thought of you when I posted Sunset Tunnel, so I’m glad it touched you…
awwwww… blush blush, you are too kind… after I thought about what I’d suggested, I realized that most folk are probably in the same boat as me and already don’t have time to get to all the blogs they want to, much less dig through someone’s archives! But if you do pick a few that would be great. I’ll consider Sunset Tunnel to be your first nomination!
🙂
Love Sunset Tunnel and Corsage!
Thanks, Tess… I was surprised at how much even I liked corsage, considering I’m not a big fan of orange!! Glad you enjoyed yourself!!
🙂
Sunset tunnel for me too! I haven’t seen all the fractals for the year, so might have to go on a rummage round your archives!! 🙂
I know how precious blog hopping time is, so if you can’t get to the archives, I’ll totally understand!! Glad you enjoyed!!
🙂
I love Mozambique! It also reminds me of a Bob Dylan song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYywEVzyVLI
COOL tune – new to me!! And I grew up on Mr Zimmerman!! Even been to see his old home in Hibbing MN!
🙂
I think I like MOZAMBIQUE the best. Sort of looks like an alien life form to me. CORSAGE looks very much like one.
Thanks, Binky… I really love Mozambique too – it’s one of my earliest and very favorites! Glad you liked ’em!!!
🙂
Sunset Tunnel and March of Time are fabulous this week. The music selections are great!
Yeah… I was on an oldie but goodie binge for a while!! Glad you liked the fractals, Valentine!!
have a great week!
🙂
Hey, I love ALL of your fractals…may I inquire what program(s) you use to make them? I’ve been struggling with Mandelbulb 3D, Incendia and Apophysis with pathetic results (thanks to a very slow comp and not enough RAM) but I do have pretty good results with older proggies such as Fractal Explorer… Love the music, I’m an oldies fan myself!
Hi there and welcome… so glad you checked out my stuff! I saw you over at zen’s place… mostly I use Apo, but I have used FE, UltraFractal, MindBlowingFractals, Fractal Science Kit. FE and MBF are free and pretty easy. Apo you already know – takes years of practice and then some! UF and FSK create very different (from each other and from the other apps), and if I knew more of the math I could make better fractals using them. Both of these last 2 are not free. I haven’t tried MB3D – I’m worried I’ll become addicted like 98% of the fractalists in the world!!
Glad you liked the tunes, too, WWG!!!
🙂
Hi there! It’s nice to be a part of things in here now. I agree, FE is pretty easy, no huge learning curve. I did find out from the awesome Mr. Tenny how to do a few things in the color tabs to make images look more 3D, but it’s a bit frustrating. I will never achieve the results that he gets (now that he’s caught the FE bug)! FE also doesn’t take so long to render as other proggies…and you might have noticed that I suffer from a bad case of slows, using an old XP 32-bit one processor machine ain’t the hot ticket. I’m told that it is fine for MB3D, but the “catch” was that I should have some other (newer) puter for all other stuff EXCEPT MB, just keep that one program on this old machine and it would run a treat. But like Zen commented, it all comes down to money…we all know that! I’d love to know more about Apo, but I can see it takes tons of practice to get good at it. And my leisure time is very sporadic. Mind Blowing Fractals, is that the one with the circusy primary-colors things and it kind of does all the work for you? …or maybe I’m thinking of something else… I like to get those WOW moments and blow my own mind…I’d rather do the work myself. But like you, I know very little about the high math that causes these wonderful images. I’m so ‘visual’ that I have always had trouble grasping abstract ideas…which meant I got low grades in school when all I wished for was pencil and paper, or a canvas and brush, the artist’s life for me! None of that math stuff, that’s for boys, LOL. I got smarter with age, but I’m still an artistic dreamer… 🙂 And yeah, beware the MB 3D bug, when it bites it never lets go!!
My heart jumped when you mentioned Hal Tenny is now doing FE work! He’s like a legend in whatever app he picks up… I’ll have to check him out on DA, see what’s new… I don’t get to DA nearly as often as I’d like but it was my first art site and it holds great sentimental value for me… http://www.buddhakat9.deviantart.com/gallery , if you wanted to take a peek…
I checked out your blog today too – I like the interesting work you do with color in FE!!!
I’m also of the broke folk, but do have the luxury of an extra laptop with Vista and maybe 2GB RAM, that I usually do all my rendering on – use the newer Dell / Windows 7 for all other activity…
🙂
PS you are exactly right about MBF – easy and bright primary colors…
Yep, he’s into that now and I’m glad…thanks to his suggs my FE works are looking better… He makes his own FE works look like they were made in something like Ultra Fractal, it’s unbelievable how blessed he is with talent! (darn it, I’m jealous!) I lean heavily on bright colors, but the intensity tabs in FE do make a lot more difference than I ever knew before…
Speaking of Mind Blowing (actually it’s “Boggling” -lol) Fractals, I downloaded the ‘full’ version and it’s pretty nice! I know a little more about the terminology now, I guess I must have had the Lite version before since I knew little or nothing…
I have considered purchasing a laptop for MB and other heftier programs such as Incendia, and leaving the old XP for other activities (instead of the other way round, as I was advised) but yeah, I’d need about $500 for a good one, something with more than 2 GB of RAM…
Oh Yeah!!! Your dA gallery ROCKS!!!
Dust in the Wind is my second favorite Kansas song ever. I even have some art named after it in my old files. Corsage is beautiful and in my colors; however, my fave this week is Window Garden. Is that one and FE?
xxx
I wonder what’s your favorite Kansas song? “Dust in the Wind” is one of those songs that gets stuck in my head lots and I like it there!
I’m pleased you like Window Garden… it has the busyness of FE, but it’s actually Apo – of the splits/crop style – there are quite a few tutes available on that. I’ll see if I can dig one up and send it to you!
🙂
Grat music. WIndow garden is outstanding.
Thankees!!!
