Day 15 of the April 2013 AtoZ Challenge… enjoy…
I may have forgotten to mention my theme – it is fractals, fractal art, everything fractal up to and including my new book Fractal Dreams! Have a look around my pages and such to see lots more fractals. Also, every Friday I post a FridayFractalFeature (fff, for short) for all to enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and engaging in the A to Z 2013 Challenge! This is my FIRST ever, so I’m pretty excited! So every day I will post a fractal whose title starts with the letter of the day… and perhaps other things fractal related.
O is for….
the fractal for O is: Opulence

- Opulence is in my book, Fractal Dreams, which is available exclusively at RedmundPro.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a mathematician, so please forgive the uneducated tone of my definitions. I am an artist, so I try to explain the math of fractals to the best of my (limited) ability.

As usual, gorgeous site!! I’ve been busy too, not a lotta time to comment anywhere *woe*. I can of course send you a graphic and link, but do you have size specs? I want to get into creating art that I can sell…but I don’t have a clue where or how to get started! A certain mutual pal suggested I do it and now I’m dreaming bigger dreams than ever… Any advice? I don’t know if my work is good enough but I hope at least some of it is…
Hi… I think that’s just part of being an artist and a blogger – you’re always behind in acknowledging and commenting, it goes with the territory…
Any image that is about 3″ or 400px on the long side would be perfect. Don’t forget a link. You have a DA page, don’t you? I think I may not still have the link, so send me that and I’ll refresh my memory on your style and work. In the end, you are the true judge as to the quality of your work. Would you buy it on a card, or as a wrapped canvas, or on a mousepad or a poster? Honestly review your pieces, decide what’s good or bad, work with it some more until you feel it’s just right. I’d be happy to give you some critiques. I’m honored that you asked!
🙂
Here is my dA link, I only have fractals there right now but in future I might include photos… I had a bunch of ’em on Webshots but they went & ruined things IMO with that new Smile dot com arrangement. Now all my old folders are gone and it’s just one big jumble…:( According to the deviantart FAQ it sounds like we can zip our stuff and transfer it over that way, which would help tremendously since I have so much…
I’ve put a ton of work into each of my pieces and I think the most recent are all quite good, or most are. I seem to be a much better judge than I was even a couple of years ago. Which is why I’m going over a lot of older pix at this time, tweaking them and improving. My fractal work has only gotten “good” since about January, though, after getting on dA and receiving tips from the experts!
I don’t have great cameras with fabulous resolution, so I don’t know if my photo pieces would be suitable for prints and posters. Does that matter? Maybe I’m just a little timid at this point…!
And yes you are free to look around and critique away! That’s how I’ve gotten to the level I am today, various critiques from those who know more than I do… 🙂
OOPS…did it again, LOL… susie forgetful head, that’s me…

Ooh, I love this. It reminds me of a Myan mask. Your fractal pictures are fabulous.
Thank you, my dear Vicki… I’m humbled at your enthusiasm!
🙂
Definitely an appropriate name!
I know, right?!?!? At first, it just felt too opulent to share!! But I got over that by naming it what I was afraid it was!!! Thanks, EG!
🙂
You AREN’T a mathematician?? damn, someone needs to do my homework
I work for chocolate.
sorry, bearman… nothing past addition, subtraction, the usual functions for me…
😉
Brilliant! I think you expalined a few days back how you made the fractals, which was very helpful as I had no idea!!
I hope I didn’t muddle the subject…
🙂
With the high contrast, this one reminds me of of a rug or textile.
nice, Binky… I like the idea of that!!
🙂
I don’t know much about fractals but this indeed makes me think of Opulence!
Excellent!
🙂
Your thoughts on colour and
style are second to none 🙂 Brilliant xxx
Andro… thank you most kindly, my friend!!
