Today is Day 4 of the April 2013 AtoZ Challenge… enjoy…
I may have forgotten to mention my theme – it will be fractals, fractal art, everything fractal up to and including my new book Fractal Dreams! Have a look around my pages and such to see lots more fractals. Also, every Friday I post a FridayFractalFeature (fff, for short) for all to enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and engaging in the A to Z 2013 Challenge! This is my FIRST ever, so I’m pretty excited! So every day I will post a fractal whose title starts with the letter of the day… and perhaps other things fractal related. AND, I’m still having a ball!! Check out A to Z Travel Tips at Laugh-Quotes.com
D is for….
Digital – most fractals you will see these days are made with the assistance of computers, so not only is the art fractal, mostly it is digital.
Dimensions – Minkowski-Bouligand Dimension or Hausdorff Dimension are two of the most used methods of measuring fractals link.
David Foster Wallace – claims the structure for the first draft of his novel Infinite Jest was based on the Sierpinsky triangle (gasket).
Dsynegrafix – a friend, fellow artist who currently uses Mandelbulb3D (free) to make his excellent fractals in his DA Gallery.
the fractal for D is: Dance Galactica
Dance Galactica is in my book, Fractal Dreams, which is available exclusively at RedmundPro.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a mathematician, so please forgive the uneducated tone of my definitions. I am an artist, so I try to explain the math of fractals to the best of my (limited) ability.
I have a feeling you will be getting quite a few – wow’s, this is really beautiful, amazing, posts from me – my first thought when this showed up in my email this morning was – that shit’s good – at my most pure my vocabulary is very poor. 🙂 *enchanted*
no worries, Ida – I like to know how folks REALLY feel!?!?! Thanks so much for your enthusiastic comment!
🙂
That one is so trippy, even just scrolling had a weird effect. Very awesome.
I know what you mean – that extra added effect is never planned, but I like it too, when it happens! I imagine there might be a few others that do that in the full 26!!
Thanks for your kind words, Heretic!
🙂
Another really cool fractal design.

“smiles and makes small curtsie* thank you so much, Ms Rhonda!!!
🙂
The title definitely fits. Interesting how much more beauty and detail one can see when clicking the image.
A question – how well do fractals display as prints?
Hi Frank.. Glad you appreciate the title – I love titling my stuff!! I think most fractals translate to print really well. Sadly, the market for such luxuries as prints and such is low now, but they can sell quite well, when exposed to the right people (those wanting to purchase)… That’s why I link to my galleries and even to my book of fractals, Fractal Dreams – definitely hoping for some sales. IMO fractal based art is some of the most beautiful stuff around. Many folks find it in venues like this blog and are left clueless as to how to find this kind of stuff to buy… I know several artists that make fairly good income from their art! I think most fractals translate to print really well.
🙂
PS Check out the reviews on my book and see what others think of the success in translation to print
Many thanks for the prints info … after all, just want to keep my options open! Now I have to get my Kendle account to get the your treats.
Oh, man! I love the pictures! Way out! I gotta come back here again. Art is in my very soul. I once dreamed of becoming an painter of pictures, now I paint with words. Thank you so very much!
Hi Ruby… glad you hopped in and super glad you enjoyed my art! Making art like this is as much a part of my soul as is breathing to my body! I am delighted at your unabashed enthusiasm! It warms the cockles of my heart! And thank you so much for your most kind words!
🙂
Dance? Yes, I picture swirls of skirts in dance. It’s easy to get lost in it. Lovely
How very astute, Tess! I see skirts and feet moving around the floor!
🙂
Hugging fractal universes!
absolutely! great comment!!
🙂
Delightful!
That fractal looks like the cross section of a nautilus shell.
Excellent observation, Binky… a nautilus shell is a classic example of fractals in nature!!!
🙂
Wow, I love fractals. AMAZING!
Thank you so much! It’s nice to find folks who have heard of them!!!
🙂
I love that the fluid motion of this one is nearly symmetric. Very pretty. xxx
Thanks, Red… it gets a lot of attention… from me too!!!
